RIP Penelope

Penelope died last night from complications of her spay. She was back with rescuer when this happened. It is too short and too sudden to happen to us. I will never forget Penelope, this is my coping and here is my Eulogy:

Penelope you were loved and will be missed forever. You are an angel now. We love you

We dedicate this poem to you:

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

PENELOPE

Got a new dog today, a Maltese Mix (maybe terrier, maybe poodle), from the teeth she is four months old, I say she is at least six, but what do I know. She is a sweetie, very mischievious (still a puppy).... Got her from a rescue organization, so I feel good about it, she will be spayed on Monday. Hopefully, she will make a good addition to our family, so far so good. Here is her first picture...

My new Petite Blythe dolls

Lazy Sunday,

Today is lazy Sunday day. Did my weekly yoga class and went to Target, took a nap and did a few errands around the house. Last nt. I worked on my fortune cookie atcs. I also attempted to send my Raindrop on Roses Swap to happyichigo and the box I had it in would of cost $37 dollars to sent to Malasyia. I think I will repack and try again- (post office said a different box that is not priority mail will cost $11.55). Inside her goodie box is a petite blythe doll, hershey kisses in cool packaging (I think I bought her style girl kisses), some gummy's, a ring pop and my little pony stickers. Probably the most costly swap yet. But it is all good, I get to meet all sorts of people around the world and keeps my mind sane.
Fortune cookie Atcs...........................

Petite Blythe, I want to keep it for myself...

Le Weekend

The weekend is almost over, I am a big homebody. I did go out to see that Hannah Montana 3D movie with Elise today. We may do the U2 3D Movie next weekend. I wasn't too productive, my house is still a mess, I am feeling a little better. I can breathe freely now. I do have a sleep hangover and had a caffeine withdrawl yesterday. I think I slept sixteen hours yesterday. Plus lots the few days previously. I couldn't even watch a dvd or read, my brain was completely in the off mode. Bought Itunes cds. Louis xiii, vampire weekend, and the yael naim cd (she sings the airbook song on the commerial). I was disappointed at the superbowl commercials this yr. they were all lame, none memorable. The Clydesdale bud horse one was the closest to my heart all the others lame. This week is back to work, just can't burn the candle at both ends or I may get sick again.

Bronchitis

Bronchitis is no fun, I feel run down, I want to do stuff, watch tv, movies etc... I lay down and fall asleep. I sleep a lot, I used to love sleep, now I am tired of sleep. I want to exercise, do crafts, read and go outside. It is no fun being sick. I actually want to go to work, crazy as it sounds, my brain is clogged with snot and breathing with wheeze and hacking is not more fun. Pass already.

New Places....
Venturing out, got a five dollar yogurt, it was yummy, no pics today, I forgot the camera. Strawberry yogurt with 3 toppings, granola, sliced almonds and fresh blackberries. Yum... The new exciting place that is out of place....

Called yogurberry, thought I was going to pinkberry but it is yogurberry in parkway plaza, the mall in El Cajon.http://www.yogurberry.com/menu.html

This place is a gem, unfortunately it is centered in the hickville america mall. The store has florescent pink walls, a black chandelier and transluscent louis the xiii chairs. there are also cool vases in the walls with different colored balls. Anyways, to go there you walk through Mervyns, and it is next to Payless Shoesource and the pretzel store. Hmmm. Doll photo shoot anyone???

Now to tag on.. my sleeped deprived self. I have a respiratory thing going on, coughing like I can't breathe. Hopefully, I don't have to go to the dr. for meds. Anyways, hopefully it will pass. Also, a thought...do I need that much sleep? I was reading a blog that the guy had four and a half hrs. sleep and then took a ninety min. nap during the day. I sleep 8 hrs a day on the weekdays and on the weekends eight or more hrs. with a two hour nap. Still tired, still unmotivated. I do have a full-time job and manage well in doing that, usually monday is worse than others but after taking a mini break from life, I am good to go the next day. Happy birthday to my honey, Ed he turns 35 today. I think I may go buy more orange tic tacs for him....I bought 5 but I think he needs 30 more packs.

Sleep

First day in a long time, I have woken up in the middle of the night and cannot sleep. I only have had 3 hrs. sleep, I woke up with an itch throat. I squirted cloriseptic in my throat, hopefully that settles soon. Reasons, could be stimulus, I saw a movie at the movie theatre tonight, 27 dresses... I also painted my fairy tale swapbot item for my swap "fairy tale" challenge through my group swap it like it's hot. It is a cool collage mixed media piece. You'll see when I have time to post pics. It has a wolf head that pokes out. Also, the weather... it was icky and drizzly. I hate that, I like sunny and mild.

Brand New Year

I am glad 2007 is over, I don't want to even talk about my Christmas, my Christmas Eve was my real holiday this yr. Today it is raining, I am inside today, I want to throw my sewing machine across the room, I am a beginner and don't know how to thread the needle to make a stitch. Perhaps, a resolution, taking actual classes on how to sew. I am reading Eat, Love, pray, It is a good book, I can only read two chapters at a time before my eyes get droopy. I also have the gossip girl series to read, and am reading a few of those at a time, Different than the show a lot more juicier. I am supposed to be working on my ATCs made out of fabric, ribbons anything but paper. But this sewing thing has got me handicapped. Also, need to work on my swap it like its hot swap based on Fairy tales that are not disneyesque. I can't post pictures right now because my memory on my computer is low and I am too lazy to use photoshop to shrink my pics down. Maybe another nap today will make me happier.

Holidays around the corner....
I have a four day weekend this week. Christmas Eve we were planning to go to the Prado in Balboa Park for dinner. Now I guess we may be cooking at my house. Christmas day is booked with family things and then return to work for Wed thru Fri. This weekend, more of doing nothing and getting my house a bit festiver, since people are coming over on Monday. This year has been good to my family and that I am thankful. I am currently thinking of my new years goals and what to accomplish and look forward to in 08.

Andy Warhol inspired ATC Swap

Not realizing how time goes by, I got a e-mail from our swap host that the Andy Warhol inspired ATCs were due tomorrow. I usually get my swaps out early. Tonight, I hadn't even started making them yet. Anyhow, I hauled ass and made 5 instead of the required 3...these are Andy's art and my collage making skills. Little shrines to Andy.

My trip to Vegas.....

Great weekend getaway. My husband, Ed's company sent us away to Vegas for the weekend at pretty much their expense. The plane fare, the rooms, Dinner, drinks and nightly shows were their treat to us.. it was a sweet treat. There was a lot going on, a championship rodeo and the big fight between Mayweather and Hatton, I guess loads of stars were in town for that as well as thousands of british tourists which is good for Vegas and the british (the pound is strong compared to our weak dollar). Speaking of dollars....we broke even, though I won in the end, Ed put in the money I profited at the casino. My first gamble a big 10 dollars. I put in the machine, the first 90 cents I put in I won another 10 dollars. My profit, 19.10. The second time I played, I put in 5 dollars and got $50 back, another win. Then I put in $16 on playing just for playing. Ed put in $40 in blackjack machines and I won another couple dollars at the airport. The dinners were extravagant. The dish I ordered the first night was the freerange chicken w/ smoked mashed potatoes and lobster bisque for the app. I had one champagne cocktail before dinner and a "cup" of champagne at the show. Ed had the fillet which had these potatoes that looked like cooked thumbs. Both the shows were "surprizes" the first show, I had seen a yr. and half ago in Vegas, that was the Cirque show "Ka", I thoroughly enjoyed the acrobatics and the beauty of the costumes, though the story is up for your own interpretation and probably gets lost in translation for most people, any Cirque production is a must see. After the first day, I was exhausted. I went back to the room. Ed went out for a few more hrs. after that and people watched, met some brits and then crawled back around 3a. I was sleeping like a log after getting sick on my drinks (I am a lightweight).

The next morning I woke up around 8ish-9ish, got my coffee clear across the casino, went back to the room and then we headed over to the Paris, Planet Hollywood area to go shopping and eat lunch. We didn't buy one thing at the mall, really impressed with myself. So many cool things at Urban Outfitters, but not one purchase. The H&M store was tiny, not a whole lot of selection, kind of disappointed after being at the stores in LA and NY. After the mall excursion, we went to the touristy spot, Mon ami Gabi. I had the steak sandwich w/ carmelized onions and frites, drink was a Mimosa. After the meal and walking around, we went back to the room for a long nap before our night on the town. By the way, we stayed at Caesars in their newest tower. The upgrade was built in 2005. Flat screen TV in mainroom, LCD in bathroom. light teal and light brown accented with dark brown couch and modern headboard. The room was nicer than most, I say it extended a good 200 ft. more than a normal hotel room. The bathroom was huge with seperated glass shower with a jacuzzi tub that had the whirlpool option, double sinks, the bathroom in its own little room, really like the setup. Next after the nap.... dinner and another show. The dinner was on top of the world at the Stratosphere. The food was good, but of course all of Vegas charges about ten percent more than a normal fancy restaurant. I ordered all sides, side of crab, caesar salad also... potatoes au gratin, green beans for the table to share. I had a sprite to drink. I was not feeling like the cocktails that night. So after dinner we headed back to Caesars to see Celine Dion. This was her final 6th performance at Caesars before Bette Midler takes over. I take back all the bad things I have said about Celine. She was gracious, wonderful and the show wasn't all her, there were beautifully done sets and dancers that were graceful and fluid. Her voice didn't crack once, she can really sing. She did sing a song in French which I understood the meme encore part but not really the other words. She also sung a song in Spanish which I didn't understand one word of. I didn't even think it was Spanish until she said gracias. That said, she did sing her newest song, she has been singing on tv, which at first, I didn't like but now I do. The night didn't end there... Ed and I went over to Paris planning to relax at the Piano bar Napoleans but found it was a party of dueling pianos. We staying for like 5 minutes before no longer finding it a relaxful place as in prior visits so we left for a almost closed bistro nearby for a beer. Then we walked back to Caesars to do more people watching. Caesars got rights to the Pussycat doll name and now features them at the nightclub and they also have their own little Casino area with corsetted dealers. The minimum table bet is $25, but even with that the seats were always full. Saw an old man flipping through dirty pool pics as he was playing on the card tables. Kind of puts the new in the old.. who knew. After all that excitement, again off to the room for a few winks before catching the mid morning flight back home. All in all, a good trip. Next time, I go to Vegas, Elton John and the Cirque show Love....March through April next yr. or Bette and Cirque Show Love this time next yr.

What a week.

A bunch of fires went off in San Diego. Over a thousand homes burned. Life was like a standstill on Monday and Tuesday. We were breathing unhealthy air and it was a bit eerie not seeing lots of cars on the road. It is ok now for us. But for those who had lost property, it is still rebuilding time for them. A lot went on and it is hard to think of how much really did happen. Fortunately, all is well for the Boyd family. I am thankful for all my family and friends in my life. Thanks to all the emails and phone calls from all over the map. Life should be back to normal on Tuesday. The kids return to school after 10 days off and I will continue working as I should (till I retire or win the lottery).

Back from the Cruise

Today is the first day back from the 7 day cruise we just took. It is also the first day since last Saturday nt. (8 days ago), I touched the internet or a computer. It was a good relaxing time, I am still swaying from being on a boat for so long. It was mostly sunny except for the last at sea day. Lots of beach time and got to parasail. Have a decent tan. I loved all the ports we stayed at for the day. Cabo, Matazlan and Puerto Vallarta. Cabo was mostly beach time, I got a massage on the beach and we sat at one of their local resorts for the day. In Matazlan, we relaxed at one of the resorts, used the pool and shopped a bit. This resort is where we have a time share if we wish to go to every yr. but most likely we will trade it out for something else. Puerto Vallarta, we went on this pirate ship, where they tried to entertain us, feed us etc.. I was a bit sea sick on that one, but then they let us play on their private beach for a few hrs. where it was nice and tropical. Relaxing yet fun, they had banana boats which the kids loved. Aaah the life. Till next vacation.
